Starvation nears as food runs out in Venezuela

Hunger is rife, starvation is not far away. I warned in a post last week that the army in Venezuela would soon turn their guns on the public as the government pay ran out, and now we see confirmation that that’s exactly where things are headed as the army steal goats and anything else they want from the disarmed citizens of Venezuela… at least from the few that actually have anything to steal!

And it’s a bad time to be a stray animal on the streets of Caracas, as people have turned to hunting to feed their families, such is the extreme shortage of food.

This makes me so sad, and so angry. I have friends there. Hard working, decent people. I’ve no doubt they are being resourceful and inventive as they try to deal with the crisis, but they are suffering at the hands of an ideology that we’ve known for decades leads to nothing but failure and misery.

They running out of water, they’re rationing electricity, communications are patchy at best, basic foods have become luxury items and the nation is edging toward starvation, crime and murder are as high as a war zone and in some cases higher, their money is worthless, and they can’t get help from anywhere. And it’s an entirely man-made crisis. A Socialism-made crisis.

The next person who tries to extol the virtues of socialism to me is going to cop an earful they’ll never forget.
