In Satire is Truth most boldly spoken…

As Trolls go, this is both brilliant, and insightful.

What a brilliant bit of Trolling! The fictitious ‘Anonymous Unvaccinated Reporting System’ is close to ‘trolling perfection’.

Satire, as they say, is often closer to the truth than the news is.

To be clear, this website is not legit, it IS satire, but its purpose is to point out how close we are to this being true… how believable this actually is…

It’s SO believable that many people mistook it for being real.

You may scoff that anyone fooled by this website must be stupid… but let’s not forget that we HAVE had government’s calling on their citizens to dob in their neighbours!

Similarly we have seen Australian’s urged to dob in neighbours that have visitors, leave their house too often, or are seen not wearing masks.

So is it really a surprise that so many would fall for a ‘Dob in the unvaccinated’ website?

The website is, in fact, a political stunt for David Alexander Bramante, who is running for Governor of California. His purpose is to draw attention to the fact that this could very well be a REAL website in the very near future.

Persecution of minorities never goes from ‘zero’ to ‘genocide’ in a single step. There’s the gradual ‘us vs them’ messaging, the slow escalation of ‘safety’ measures being taken against the ‘them’ to protect the ‘us’. The gradual increase in militarism, the ever hardening language, the deliberate efforts to dehumanise the ‘other’.

We are on a dangerous road, and the believability of this satirical website shows us exactly where we are.

If we do what others have done, we will suffer what others have suffered. Our only hope of avoiding that fate is a radical change of direction.

  1. Hi Topher, I own a little cafe in regional Victoria on the Victorian/NSW border. I have a huge concern about the vaccine passport scenario. I am opposed to the vaccine (not an anti-vaxxer) but do have a fear of the unknown. The idea that I may, in the near future, be held responsible for the vaccination of my staff members is intolerable. Not to mention my customer base having to make a decision as to whether they are comfortable entering my cafe or not based on my choice of no vaccine. I feel that there is no decision or conclusion that I can arrive at that does not harm myself, my staff or my business in some way. I know the Government are saying there will be no mandate but it appears that the precedent may be set by a business entitiy not far from me (SPC). This now comes after my cafe has been locked down many times, as well as being impacted due to the border closers.
What will happen next – do I need to draw a line down the middle of my cafe and direct the vaccinated to one side and the unvaccinated to the other (blacks and whites)? Or do we need to wear some kind of identification (like a yellow star) to inform people to our personal situations? In the end, do I lose my customer base and ultimately my cafe or do I have to make a choice to surrender my very personal heath concerns on this to survive as a small business?

    • Hi Alison, I’m so sorry you’ve been put in this horrible situation.

I’m of the view that any attempt at wide spread covid passports is going to fail very quickly. That’s not to say it won’t be implemented, but I do think it will be relatively short-lived, and the civil disobedience will be widespread.

Think of the Prohibition of Alcohol in the US in the 20s… There’s going to be a lot of people looking for a ‘no vax required’ place to shop, and many people will actually seek you out on that basis.

Stay the course, don’t lose sleep over tomorrows problems, have faith that there will be a path through tomorrow when you get there. 🙂
